John J. and Maria (Mary) Holly
Children: All of John and Mary Holly's children were born in Johnstown, PA except for the 1st Anna. All the rest of the Holly children were baptised at St. Stephen's Catholic Church, (Cambria City) Johnstown, PA. There were actually ten (10) Holly children; 5 dying young.
Anna Holly (the first Anna) and the first born, (b-1886), but died mid-1893, a few months before Anna Louise Holly (her sister) was born. She was 7 years old. Cause of death, unknown. She was not born in Johnstown, PA. (There is no further information or pictures on the 1st Anna.) This Anna is counted as one of the 5 Holly children dying young.
John J. Holly (Jr) Registration Card for military shows birth date of March 7, 1891 Moved from Johnstown, PA to Lorain, OH (after the death of his mother, Mary). Met, and married Anna Elizabeth Roskos of Whiting, IN (age 16) on September 10, 1910. John was a steel mill worker. One of the addresses they lived at was 709 East 35th St., Lorain, OH;. This was back in 1913 and 1914, and communication kept up thru the Great Depression, but very limited. John and Anna E. separated at one point and communication was eventually lost with John Holly, (Jr.) It was recalled, but not verified that John Jr. died of a heart attack. Anna Roskos Holly (Holley) died February 15, 1989, Willard, OH. She was 94.

George J. Holly, born June 5, 1892, baptized June 11, 1892, died April 28, 1948 of a stroke while in Buffalo, NY (buried in Buffalo). Registration Card for military confirms his birth date. He was living in Lorain, OH with his brother, John Jr and Anna at the time of this registration. Patricia Holly had not yet been born. George lived intermittently between Lorain, Cleveland and Johnstown while also traveling extensively around the U.S. primarily for his Boxing career. He also had some "Cherokee" Indian buddies he hung with. He met and married (see Marriage Certificate) Cleda Frances Yahner in Johnstown (June 17, 1913.) Cleda Frances died 11/30/75. George was known as "Kid Holly" the Boxer. [Kid Holly, Global ID 305795, Division: Middleweight, Residence: Lorain, Ohio, won 1 (KO 1) + lost 1 (KO 0) + drawn 0 = 2, rounds boxed 9 KO% 50; George was weighing in at approx. 166 lbs. BoxRec.com shows George's boxing career from 1928-1933, (however, it looks like his boxing career started much earlier...in 1909... when he was know as "Young Holly" in Johnstown. Verification needed.) (see Article 1 and Article 2)] It is believed that John (his nephew; from John and Anna's marriage) tried to follow in his Uncle George's footsteps; John Holly (nephew of George) was part of the Golden Gloves (lightweight) in Lorain in the 1930's.

Mary married on 2/1/36 Charles Edward Spencer (b-9/6/11) in Ripley, NY., but moved to Los Angeles (Culver City), CA close to MGM Studios. Mary Ellen Donald (age 6) and Julia Holly Donald went to visit Mary Frances when they lived in Culver City. Mary Ellen remembered two daughters of Mary Frances about the same age of as her (the year was 1940 approx). Divorced 3/22/48, Ventura Co. Remarried, Earl Higgins (6/8/56-Las Vegas, NV. (Has children, but unknown info.) Update: 1 daughter born in Cleveland (with illness); name: Patricia Ann Spencer, but died age 1 or 2. Cause of death: Unknown. Mary should have at least 2 other daughters in their 70's. Anna died May 7th, 1979 and is buried in Johnstown, PA (Headrick's Cemetery). Married Harry Walters of Johnstown, March 7, 1916. Harry died of MS, September 25, 1943; he is also buried at Headrick's Cemetery.

Frank never married and died in Chicago, IL. Frank did carry a wallet, and he died with very little money. Ann Holly Walters' (his sister) name and address was on Frank's Social Security card, but it wasn't noticed until several months after his death by Chicago authorities. By then, two Cleveland detectives went to Ann's home and informed her of her brother's death, and the grim news of Frank's body being used as a cadaver in a hospital came out. (There was always some suspicion concerning this incident among the family.) Ann was told by these detectives that Frank died of natural causes (see death certificate)
Earlier in Frank's life, after the death of his mother, Mary Holly, (Frank was 7 at the time), Frank left Johnstown, traveled to Lorain to be with his brother's, then back to Johnstown. His older brothers and sister Ann tried to take care of him, but Frank was eventually put under the guardianship of an attorney in Johnstown, and sent to the Baltimore Boys Home where he stayed until he was old enough to be on his own. He lived there the same time that Babe Ruth was there and was acquainted with him, but not close buddies.
Did Frank have any children? Unknown.

Juliana (Julia) Marie Holly, born January 9, 1903, baptized January 11, 1903, died July 30, 1986 (the youngest of the Holly children). Buried at Palm Mortuary Cemetery (Garden of Resurrection) Las Vegas, NV. Married Andrew (Andy) J. Schrock (age 17) approx. October 1920; married Thomas Donald, married Edward (Ed) Blackwell. Some of Julia and Andy Schrock's travels for work as "migrant (farm) workers" took them all over the mid-west, up thru 1934, ending in San Antonio, TX. During the course of Julia's travels, she was in the "logging" business in Kalispell, MT with Ed Blackwell with her daughter, Lillian Schrock Bush and son-in-law Bill (William).
